Santa is preparing his sleigh, backyard cricket is being played, seafood lunches and Christmas pudding are being prepared which means it’s time to get the whole family in the festive spirit this year, and what better way than lighting up their eyes, literally!

The best Christmas lights are on display in Western Sydney and let’s be honest, even the biggest grinch can admit there is something truly magical about Christmas lights. It’s a great way to spend time with family and friends, enjoy an ice cream from Mr Whippy and walk down these amazing streets which only light up once a year.

Plenty of streets do amazing Christmas lights, but only a select few well and truly take the cake. Not too sure where to go? We’ve made it easy for you by listing down some of the best lit up streets in your very own backyard.

Greystanes - Cumberland Rd  

This street is one not to miss, residents truly get into the Christmas spirit and create some magic for families to get into the festive spirit. Be sure to grab some ice cream from the ice cream trucks that come down to enjoy the lights as well. A number of houses are decorated along Cumberland Road, Whalans Road and Vernon Street in Greystanes.

Winston Hill - Caledonian Avenue 

This display can’t be missed on any tour de Christmas lights in the West. The display creates awe and wonder in the eyes of kids and big kids alike.

Guildford - 8 O’Neill Street  

From the first of December to the 4th of January this family home has a seven-minute music synchronised show that occurs every hour, on the hour, between 8:30- 11:30 pm.  

St Clair - Benaud Street  

This family home has been putting up incredible lights for years now!  This year will be an extra special Christmas for this household as they will be paying honour to a loved one who sadly passed away this year.

Glenmore Park - Kiber Drive & Troon Court 

These street in Glenmore Park have fantastic displays of lights, inflatables, projections, and plenty more! Well worth a visit to this Christmas wonderland!

Merrylands - Clarence Street 

Christmas lights with a good cause! Both houses (75 and 77) on this street not only put up a stunning displays of Christmas lights, they also raise money for the Children’s Hospital while they are at it. What’s better than a beautiful light display and contributing to a worthy cause. It’s a double feel-good.

Mount Annan - Lochview Crescent & Caley Way

These Mount Annan streets are full of festive spirit! The houses light up along with the faces of those who see it and there are plenty of lights and synchronised Christmas music to go with it.

Quakers Hill - 7 Mallee Street & 9 Trezise Place

Take a photo in the life size sleigh, post a letter to Santa, or sing some carols on the lawn. Partake in any and all of these activities at this house and you’ll walk away feeling truly festive. You’ll have to come along and see for yourself the creativity and interactivity of this house.

A lighted archway, a miniature Christmas Village brought to life, this house is one you have to see for yourself, photos just don’t do it justice.
